Best Travel Checklist | Packing List For Memorable Trip

Who doesn’t love vacations? Picture this you’ve booked your tickets. Booked your stay at that gorgeous home-stay with a backyard pool. Even got your visas sorted out. You only have one thing left to do; pack your bags. It doesn’t matter if you’re a novice or a regular traveller, or how long your travel is, packing all your essentials can always be a struggle. But we’ve got you covered with this travel checklist. We’ve divided it into three parts: Must haves, good to have, and fly in luxury.

Exploring new places is always fun, it’s like going an adventure. Have you planned your own Europe adventure? Well don’t forget to check out this packing list for europe, so you don’t miss out on anything!

Part One: Travel Must Haves

  • Passport

No travel checklist can start without making sure you’re carrying your passport. It is the most important document.

  • Travel Documents

Other documents you need apart from your passport are:

a) Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is intended to cover medical expenses, trip cancellation, lost luggage, flight accident and other losses incurred while travelling.

b) Travel Itinerary and hotel reservation info

It is always recommended to keep your travel itinerary and hotel information with you. Most places prefer to know how long you intend to stay and a definite date of when you’ll be leaving.

c) Visas

A visa is very important travel document. (You can visit a lot of places without one!) You should always apply for a visa in advance since it could take a while before you get it. If you’re found without a visa in certain places, you’re immediately asked to fly back. That would turn out to be a really expensive detour.

d) Boarding pass

Certain places at the airport are only accessible using a boarding pass. Always make sure to carry yours along, or you won’t be able to board your flight.

  • Travel Wallet

The currency is the most important part of your travel. Converting your cash to the local currency(of the country you’re visiting) is the first thing that you do. In addition to this, it’s always good to carry a few dollars and euros as well. Carry your cards along with your cash, since it’s always good to have them in case some places don’t accept cash. A travel wallet is a good way to stay organized and avoid any mishaps when it comes to your finances.

  • Toiletry Bag

To avoid overstuffing your bags, carry a toiletry bag along:

  • Dental hygiene products
  1. Toothpaste
  2. Toothbrush
  3. Floss
  4. Mouthwash
  • Bath hygiene products
  1. Soap, body washes
  2. Shampoos, conditioners, hair marks
  • Makeup products
  1. Lip balm, lip care
  2. Sun screens, body creams
  3. Makeup wipes
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Personal hygiene products
  1. Contact lenses and extra solution and lenses
  2. Wet wipes
  • Health Care

Before going to your destination, it is always helpful to find out if you need to take certain medications or vaccines.(Necessary for a lot of places)

Always confirm with your doctor about whether you need any prescription medicines. And make sure to carry the prescription. Some countries require a written prescription for said medication.Make sure place your medication in a neatly labelled container.

1.Common cold medication

2.Laxatives

3.Throat lozenges

4.Pain relievers

5.Prescription medications

6.Allergy medications

7.High-altitude medications (if you’re planning to a place at a higher-altitude)

  • Things to keep in your Carry-Ons

We have talked about what you could or should carry. Having a carry-on is always recommended regardless of how long or short your trip is. Even more convenient for shorter trips, a carry-on for longer trips helps divide the total weight of your essentials between your carry-on and your main luggage. Here is what you can put in your carry-on:

1.Electronics: laptops, phones, tablets

2.Electric converters & Adaptors
Most places have different plug points, so it’s always good to carry an adaptor.

3.Headphones

4.Cameras, extra batteries and memory cards

5.Bathroom Slippers
An aircraft is said to be cleaned every time before it takes off. But you can never tell how clean the aircraft truly is, especially the lavatory. Always make sure to carry a pair of bath slippers, if you ever feel the need to use the lavatory on a long flight.

  • Luggage

With your carry on out of the way, let’s discuss the luggage. Nobody wants to travel with a bag with a weak strap or broken wheels, or worse have it break while on your trip. So always make sure to have a good bag, buy a new one if you need to. Next, what do we put into it?

1.Clothes (the numbers increase if you won’t be washing them)

2.Swimsuits (depending on the place you’re visiting)

3.Electric converters and adaptors

4.Jewellery(if you need it)

5.Shoes(a pair of comfortable walking shoes is all you need)

6.Toiletry bag

7.Bathroom Slippers
No matter how good the hotel you’re staying at is, you will always be a sceptic about how clean the bath is. Make sure you have another pair of bath slippers stashed into your luggage.

Part Two: Good To Have

A vacation should always be exciting and fun. But there’s always room for improvement. Here is a checklist of things that would make your simple holiday a lot better:

  • Passport Holder

Keeping your all of your travel documents in one place can be a struggle, especially when you’re boarding. A passport holder helps with that. Along with your travel documents, you’ll have room to store your cash and cards as well.

  • Luggage Tag

Luggage tags are an essential part of your travel. Most people wouldn’t agree but it’s true. Think about it. If you somehow manage to lose your luggage at the airport, how will you identify it? A luggage tag allows you to do that by having your name and other information on your luggage.

  1. Travel Pillow

No one enjoys sleeping in an uncomfortable position, especially on a long flight. By investing in a good travel pillow, you can bid adieu to a stiff neck, disturbed sleep, etc.

  • Eye Mask

Most people find it hard to sleep on a flight with surrounding lights, sounds, etc. With an eye mask blocking out the lights, you can seize a couple hours of sleep.

  • Your Favourite Book

A book lover will always tell you that nothing can top reading their favourite book. But there is something better, reading your favourite book, looking over nothing but clouds. It may not sound like much, but it truly is something you would want to have.

Part Three: Fly in Luxury

Luxury as a term is subjective, but we all have things we love and want. Here’s a travel checklist of stunning items that will help you look and feel the part without breaking the bank:

  • Jewellery Case

Carrying some of your jewellery on a trip can be a nightmare. You could end up losing an earring at the bottom of your bag, only finding it when you’re unpacking at the end of your trip. Avoid any such mishaps happening by investing in a good, durable jewellery case and travel in style!

  • Travel Uniform/ Outfit

How many times have we come across a situation where we’ve had to get off a flight and walk straight into a meeting or an event? Carry an extra outfit in your carry on. A suit for a business meeting, or a whole different outfit for a specific event. Or maybe an extra pair of nightwear for a comfortable slumber in the air.

  • Tie Case

Nobody likes wrinkled ties, especially if you’re flying for business and need a quick outfit change. A good tie case is a great choice to get you out of a sticky situation.

  • A DSLR or a GoPro

What’s a trip without some great pictures or videos? Carrying along a GoPro for those amazing underwater shots at the beach, or a DSLR to take stunning pictures everywhere you go, makes for a fun holiday.

  • Kindle or iPad

Electronics may not necessarily be a luxury, but most people are always either stuck watching what’s on the flight or struggling to fall asleep. A kindle is a great addition to your checklist, for a light read over breakfast or a comfortable read over the cloud is bliss. If you’re not much of a reader, an iPad could be your go-to.

  • Noise Cancelling Headphones/ Wireless Headphones

It’s always good to take a good pair of headphones along. Especially if you truly want to block everything out. Noise cancelling headphone offer you the opportunity to truly immerse yourself in whatever you’re watching or listening to.

The first thing you should always do is make a travel checklist. Try to keep your travel checklist simple and easy to follow. Not only will it make things easier for you, but the chances of you forgetting something are a lot lesser this way. Always remember to carry a great, durable suitcase and carry on, keep all your travel documents in order and respect the customs and traditions of whatever place you’re going to.

Have an enjoyable trip!
