HOSPITAL BAG CHECKLIST
- PILLOW: Consider bringing your own pillow with you to the hospital to ensure you’re comfortable and can get restful sleep during your stay.
- SLIPPERS: We like to bring a pair of cozy slippers with us to the hospital so our feet stay warm when we get up to walk around. We love the simple, shearling-lined slippers from Madewell.
- LOUNGEWEAR: Pack something soft and comfy that you can lounge around in but that’s still cute enough to wear to greet visitors. We love the cute, nursing-friendly dresses from Dwell + Slumber.
- ROBE: Wrap up in a cozy robe when you’re hanging out at the hospital or after you shower. You can find stylish and affordable robe options at Target.
- NURSING BRA: If you’re planning to breastfeed, a good nursing bra is a must. We love the comfy, leak-proof nursing bras and postpartum collection from Knix.
- BABY JOURNAL: Document your pregnancy, birth story, and baby’s first moments in a keepsake baby journal. We love Promptly Journals beautiful linen-bound Childhood History Journal.
- SLEEP MASK: When it comes to being in the hospital, we’ll take all the pampering we can get! We like to pack a sleeping mask to help us get some sleep and block out the bright hospital lights.
- HEATING PAD: We like to pack a heating pad to help ease cramps, soreness, and back pain.
- PACIFIER: We love the stylish and safe pacifiers and pacifier clips from Ryan & Rose.
- LIP BALM: If you’re anything like us, you can’t leave home without lip balm. Don’t forget to pack an extra tube in your hospital bag—you’ll need it with all those newborn kisses!
- SKINCARE: You’ll feel more relaxed and at home with your daily skincare routine in tow. Consider packing travel-size versions of your favorite skincare items such as face wash, moisturizer, eye cream, etc. Check out our post featuring 13 non-toxic skincare products for mamas.
- DRY SHAMPOO: Your favorite bottle of dry shampoo will be a life saver when you’re in the midst of newborn bliss and don’t have the desire or time to wash your hair. We love The Ouai Dry Shampoo.
- PHONE CHARGER: Don’t leave home without it! You’ll need plenty of battery life to send newborn photos to family and friends.
- FLIP FLOPS: Consider packing a pair of flip flops for the hospital shower. Need we say more?
- SNACKS: Keep a few snacks on hand for you and your hubby when the midnight munchies roll around or when you get sick of hospital food. We like to pack a few favorite snacks from Trader Joe’s (peanut butter-filled pretzels, anyone?!).
