The backpack is slim and lightweight but has the capacity to carry a large amount of gear. It’s very well priced and the Altmont is a great choice if you’re in need of an inexpensive everyday laptop backpack.
Design and Features
Value for money: When it comes to price, the Altmont sits around the middle of the range for laptop backpacks. When you look at what you get it’s great value for money for the price. you’re getting an attractive minimalist backpack.
Water Resistant: Can you afford to have a laptop backpack that’s not water-resistant? We don’t think so, and at this price range, it’s a great feature to have.
Quality materials: In our opinion to be a fantastic all-round backpack you need to be made from quality materials. The Altmont is made from high-quality lightweight Versatek™ fabric, allowing the bag to have “the strength” to carry heavy loads, along with the “durability” for everyday use. It has a ballistic nylon base for that extra level of protection. If you’re a student, or in need of an everyday backpack, then this could be the ideal fit.
Vertical front zip: There are a number of quality variations to the Victorinox Altmont 3.0 series, they all share the same general design, quality materials and workmanship. Our favourite though was the vertical zip variant. It’s not fancy but it just gives you that added ability to flick the backpack around your shoulder and access the front pocket without its contents spilling out. If you’re on a bike, in a crowded subway or just in a hurry, the ability to flick the backpack around and access your phone, wallet or ticket is really useful.
Large Compartments: The bag is comfortable and fitted with 2 main internal compartments for general all-purpose, perfect for carrying your books or folders. It has a large padded laptop compartment at the rear for storing your laptop.
17-inch laptop sleeve: One great feature of the Altmont is that the backpacks padded sleeve is large enough to fit a 17-inch laptop. Ideal for large work laptops and or gaming laptops.
Multiple Colours: One of the nice features of the Altmont is that it is available in multiple colours, the range includes black, grey, camo, blue and red.
Hidden water bottle pocket: Located at the side of the bag is a handy pocket for carrying your drink bottle. The zip away bottle holder allows the bag to still keep its sleekness when not in use, yet also provides the function to easily store your water bottle.

High Contrast Interior: It’s becoming pretty common these days but for a tech backpack, a bright high contrast internal is a must. With all the black cables and equipment that are carried around these days, the contrast lining allows you to easily find what you’re looking for. Internally the bag is bright orange which could be a bit overwhelming for some when the bag is empty, but not that big of an issue when the bag is full.
17-inch laptop sleeve: The padded backpack sleeves are large and designed to handle a 17” laptop gaming laptop. The bag is well-padded on the sides and base and safely holds your large laptop.
TSA Checkpoint friendly: One of the nice features is that the rear zipper runs right down the side allowing the backpack to be completely opened up and be TSA checkpoint friendly.
Large Storage Compartments: The middle compartments have been designed for large storage and come packed with lots of small internal pockets and sleeves. If you’re the organized type, there are pretty much pockets for absolutely everything.
Media Pouch: One of the things we really like about this backpack is its fur-lined media player pouch at the front of the bag. It is equipped with a cord pass-through point specifically designed for your cell and personal items.
Heavy lifter: The bag is designed to handle carrying heavy loads and comes with some well-padded shoulder straps and a chest strap. On the sides of the backpack are restraint straps to tie down and compress the load. These are vital as they let you fasten the bag closer to your body for better weight distribution and comfort.

Large Compartments: Looking at the design of the Dakine Mission backpack, one of its great features is the backpacks layout. It’s a backpack for active users so it makes sense to have some large compartments. If you’re a skate or snowboarder these large area allows you to easily store extra clothing, pads or any other piece of equipment you might need.
As a school bag its large enough for books, folders and the laptop.
Vertical Board Straps: One of the backpacks unique features is the board straps located at the front of the backpack. These straps are great to carry a skateboard, clip a helmet onto or just to carry any other piece of equipment you might have with you.

Tigernu Slim Business Laptop Backpack – Most Economical
While we are in the search for the ultimate back, we don’t all have an unlimited budget. For this reason, we have included in our list what we believe is the top-ranking lower-priced backpack… If you’re a student or just starting out this is a great entry-level laptop backpack.
It looks smart, has all a lot of features and best of all is very well priced.
It’s not a bag made from premium material and it’s not water-resistant like a lot of the other bags around, but that is the difference between a bag this price and others which are a lot more expensive.
Overall the Tigernu is great bang for your buck. It’s an anti-theft backpack and full of great features for the price. It is slim, looks smart and is well-designed.
It’s a fantastic entry-level business laptop backpack.
Design and Features
Anti-theft pocket: The backpack is well designed and includes a number of nice features specifically the anti-theft pocket at the rear of the bag.
Clean Design: Looking at the backpack it has a front pocket, front compartment, middle compartment and a hidden laptop sleeve. It is slim and is fitted with lockable zippers for security.
Vertical zip front pocket: One of the features I love about well-designed backpacks is that the designers have obviously tested out their bags and really worked out how they are used. This is very evident with a vertical zipper on front pockets. These are great as they allow you to quickly swing the bag around you, while still staying on your shoulder and providing access to the pocket without its contents spilling out. These pockets are fantastic as they can hold your phone, passports, tickets sunglasses or any other items you might need quick access too.
Well organized Compartments: The front compartment of the bag is run of the mill, it has a couple of internal sleeves for organizing items but overall it’s just a smaller partitioned storage space.
The middle compartment of the bag, however, is a lot larger and this is where you would store the majority of your gear. It has labelled internal pockets for phones, book, chargers, and a tablet.
Hidden Laptop Sleeve: As part of the anti-theft characteristics of the bag, it has a hidden laptop sleeve, the sleeve is located under the shoulder straps and while it is easy to access it’s not obvious. So if someone was to quickly look through your bag for your laptop they likely wouldn’t find it.
Bonus Features: Located at the back of the backpack is a hidden pocket within the bottom back padding, this is an ideal spot for passports or any valuables you want to store and keep close to your body.
On the side of the bag are small pockets, for items like wallets or phones, they can also fit a small drink bottle in the elastic strap, but it’s a little awkward.
Low-level padding: One of the downsides of the backpack is that there’s not a lot of padding at the back, so you really wouldn’t want to wear it for too long fully loaded as it will likely get uncomfortable.

Even though this backpack is relatively small, you’ll be surprised to know that it has well-sized compartments. The main storage area has an l-shaped style zipper, allowing you to use the backpack in the vertical or horizontal positions.

Lots of Internal Pockets: At the front of the backpack are 2 smaller compartments that are full of organizational pockets and pouches. The top is a nice book opening compartment, perfect for all your smaller items like pens, books, tickets, and documents.
At the base, is a clever hard-case compartment. This compartment is removable and is perfect for sunglasses or laptop AC adaptors, basically any items that need a little more protection.
Clever Water Bottle Holder: Located on the side of the bag are clever zip away pockets for smaller items or a water bottle, they open up when in use or nicely zip away when not.
Limited Lifetime Warranty: A nice feature is that it comes with a limited lifetime warranty on materials and workmanship.
Water-Resistant Materials: The backpack is made from quality materials with that have had a Teflon coating added – perfect if you’re caught in the rain and need to keep your possessions dry.
Bonus Features: One of the things we love about this backpack is its ability to transform from a backpack to a briefcase. The backpack has the ability to unclip and hide away the shoulder straps into a back pocket. The back pocket also acts as a pass-through point for your luggage handle, great for attaching your carry on to your luggage in the airport.
I personally love this feature and find its the little things like this that takes the backpack to the next level. The designers have obviously thought through who the backpack is for and what they need.
Designed for Professionals: In our opinion, this is one of the best genuine professional backpacks around, its modern, slim, very comfortable and a great size for the office. It can be carry-on luggage, a backpack, or used as a modern briefcase around the office.

Side Access Ticket Pocket: I nice little-hidden feature of the backpack is the side zipper pocket. The vertical zipper allows you to easily access items like your tablet, ticket or phone when the backpack is slung around your shoulder.
Water Bottle Holder: On one side of the backpack you will find a mesh water bottle holder, on the other side is a slim zippered pocket for small items.

Looking at the features of the backpack, it has multiple small pockets at the front, two middle compartments and a laptop compartment at the rear.
Vertical Zippered Front Pockets: The pockets at the front of the backpack are fitted with 2 vertical zipped compartments, the pocket on the left is fleece lined while the one on the right is for general use. These are great and very practical as the vertical zippers allow you to quickly access your gear (and not spill any items), if you are slinging the bag around your shoulder.
Padded Front Pocket: Also at the front of the backpack at the top is a small padded pocket perfect for easy access to your phone or glasses.
Large Compartments: The two middle compartments of the backpack are where you can store the majority of your gear. They are well sized and have a number of zipped mesh pockets for items like chargers, books or anything you like to have organized. A number of the pockets are fleece lined adding that extra bit of protection.
TSA Checkpoint Friendly: Located at the rear of the backpack is the laptop sleeve, this is fitted with zippers that go right down the sides of the bag allowing you to quickly open up the rear pocket for fast TSA checkpoints.
17-inch Laptop Sleeve: The laptop sleeve is well-padded and big… its large enough that you can store a 17-inch or gaming laptop if needed.
Very Comfortable: Externally at the back of the backpack, the rear padding is excellent and has a well-designed contour flow system for comfort. The shoulder straps are very comfortable and contain a chest strap with a whistle. The chest straps also contain reflective hoops which are great if your commuting or using the bag at night.
To add the comfort features of the backpack, the bag is also fitted with side straps, these pull the backpack and its gear tight and close to your back for increased comfort. The straps unclip easily and provide you with more control over the position the backpack’s weight.
Quality Materials: The Router is made from high-quality 500D Cordura® ripstop nylon. This provides the backpack with a high grade of durability, tear and scuff resistance while still keeping the weight of the backpack down.
Large Water Bottle Holders: On each side of the backpack is a deep water bottle holder, ideal for a bottle around 20-27 ounces.
