Tote bags are practical. So I’m often using one both when traveling and on a daily basis. Since the summer of 2017 I’ve been using this exact tote from My Best Friend is a Bag. When I first saw the bag I was surprised how sturdy and well-made the BfB Jennifer tote looks! And not only on pictures. In real life it looks even better.

The bag arrived packed in a box. It was neatly wrapped in a white canvas bag with BfB logo on it.

Every BfB bag is handmade using the highest quality materials. The Jennifer tote is made of vegan leather – gorgeous textured faux snakeskin. This material is sturdy and durable. The handles of the Jennifer look and feel very strong. They have extra webbing and stitching to make them more durable. The tote bag has beautiful brushed nickel hardware. The zippers are top quality. They’re shiny and smooth, and look durable.

The inside of the bag is lined with durable material. The lining is bright and colorful. I have a grey bag, and its lining is pink (love the color!). The black bag has an orange lining. The red one – blue lining.

The Jennifer tote comes with a detachable decoration and detachable crossbody strap. Good news – if the handles wear out, you can buy brand new BfB replacement handles!

The Jennifer tote has 3 large zippered compartments and 3 slip pockets inside one of the largest compartments.

One of the largest zippered compartments (back section) is padded and can accommodate a 13” laptop. I have a 11” laptop. When I put it in the largest padded section it shifts around because this section is designed for a larger laptop. To prevent it from shifting I put it in a protective sleeve. As my 11” laptop computer in its soft case is still smaller than a 13” laptop, there’s space for a charger and a mouse, too! Great!

There’s another large zippered compartment on the other side of the tote bag (front section). It’s unpadded, and has 3 slip pockets and a detachable key clip. It’s a really great feature – your keys will be right there all the time! And you will always be able to find them quickly, without digging through all the stuff in your bag.

The largest of the slip pockets can accommodate Amazon Kindle without its case or my passport in its cover. The two smaller pockets are of the same size. They both can hold my 5.5” smartphone in its case.

There’s another zippered padded section. It’s in the middle of the tote bag, between the two largest zippered compartments. It’s smaller, but still big enough to accommodate my large 10.1” tablet without its case. I tried also to put my second laptop computer (10.1”) in the middle padded section, and I was surprised to see that it fits in! But I wouldn’t carry a 10.1” laptop in the padded middle compartment, since it’s a tight fit – and so the zippers might break. Better use the laptop compartment!

The Jennifer bag is versatile. If you aren’t carrying any devices, then notebooks, papers, books and documents can be stored in any of the compartment!

How Roomy Is BfB Jennifer?

BfB Laptop Tote Jennifer: Bottom Line

All in all, it’s a great bag!

It holds all my electronics securely! Even when the bag is full and packed with all of this heavy stuff, it doesn’t hurt my shoulders when I carry it. The shoulder straps are quite thick and rounded, and they don’t dig into my skin.

I am very happy with all of these compartments and pockets. They help to keep my things organized. Everything has its own pocket! It’s easy to find my wallet, phone and keys! The laptop sits in its own compartment, as well as the tablet! No more digging through stuff!

The bag can stand on its own, even if it’s empty. It has sturdy flat bottom, and there are 5 round feet at the bottom that help to keep the tote in upright position.

However, if you pack it that full (see the list above) it wasn’t too stable anymore – it was leaning to one side. That’s because one of the largest compartments (unpadded one) contains more stuff than the padded laptop section and it’s heavier. Note that!

There’s one drawback, though.The bag itself is pretty heavy.
