Looking for a great place to work or study in Portland? Try a change of scenery and take your choice of craft coffee, delicious pastries, or even microbrews at one of these top work-friendly cafes.Â
Southeast Portland
Coava Coffee
1300 SE Grand AveÂ
Coava offers a large space with big tables, and a few outlets are available, too. They feature two hand-poured coffee options and two espresso-based drinks per day, to showcase the company’s single-origin coffees. If you’re looking for simplicity, quality coffee and an open floor plan, grab a seat at Coava for your next work session.
PCC Southeast Campus Library
2305 SE 82nd Ave
You don’t have to be a student to enjoy PCC Southeast’s three floors of modern, open space. Wifi is public and you can choose a seat in the collaborative zone on the second floor, the quiet zone on the third floor, or grab food and beverages while you work at the Old School Cafe on the first floor.
Â
North/Northeast Portland
The Albina Press
4637 N Albina Ave
Albina Press serves coffee and treats, with a range of seating options, open wifi, and outlets. There are tables and couches inside as well as outdoor seating to enjoy the summer sun. This is a long-time favorite near the popular Missisippi neighborhood.
StingRay Cafe
240 N Broadway
StingRay Cafe features beer and bagels, with a full bar and hearty sandwich menu as well. The open, spacious floorplan allows you to find your own corner to get some work done or host a small meeting.

Downtown Portland
Stumptown Coffee
1026 SW Stark St. at SW 11th Ave.
Stumptown is perhaps Portland’s most famous coffee producer and there are a number of cafe locations around town. This one near the ACE hotel allows for great people-watching downstairs, while many enjoy the quieter work space upstairs. In addition to coffee, they also serve pastries, including a few gluten-free options.
WeWork Custom House
