Survey says: You guys have awesome diaper bags. This week, we received a ton of helpful, clever, and funny survey responses from our weeSpring community. Since we can’t share them all, here’s a roundup of popular diaper bag must-haves and tips:
- Emergency snacks for baby (and mom!) are a must.
- Sophie is a gal on the go.
- Sometimes Cheerios work like a charm, don’t leave home without ‘em.
- Extra clothes, toys, and bibs always come in handy.
- There’s a lot of love for plastic baggies (to politely dispose of diapers in public places or to use for dirty clothes).
- A small wristlet or clutch can be used to keep your money, lip-gloss, phone and keys in one place.
- You can create your own mini first aid kit to be prepared for minor on-the-go emergencies.
- Keep baby coupons handy because you never know when you’ll need one!
- Toss in an infinity scarf, which does double duty as an impromptu nursing cover.
- A baby sunscreen stick can be the easiest (smallest) way to keep back-up sunscreen on you.
And now for our featured list…
Tina’s Diaper Bag:
My diaper bag is actually a Vera Bradley bag that wasn’t designed to be a diaper bag. It’s a wonderful size and easily fits everything I’ve mentioned. It has pockets lining the inside of the bag, which really keep me organized. There’s even room for my sunglasses and wallet.
1. Skip Hop Pronto Changer: I keep a few diapers, wipes and extra money in it. It’s great because it provides a clean changing surface wherever I am and I can leave the heavier diaper bag with all the goodies in the car for quick trips into the grocery or library. It is by far my most valued thing in my diaper bag.
2. Boudreaux’s Butt Paste: Because sometimes, you just need it.
3. MD MOMS Baby Silk Babysafe Sunscreen Towelettes: It’s always good to have sunscreen, just in case.
4. Floppy sun hat
5. Extra clothes for baby
6. Small vial of hand sanitizer; I use it all the time!
7. Mix Mate Spoon with spoon cover
8. On the go snacks: These are my little one’s favorite snacks and they travel well and are easy to replace:1 Ella’s smoothie, 1 package of happy yogis, 1 container of puffs and a water bottle.
Two Books: I change them out on a regular basis.
Small Toys: My little one entertains herself longer with the smaller toys. They take up less space and aren’t as heavy as other toys. Two of her absolute favorites are a monster finger puppet and a shaky egg.
A bib: I’ve often put a disposable one in with my “food bag”, but prefer a plastic one that folds up and can be easily cleaned.
