The Junyuan Leather Co. pouch is a small ultra practical saddle bag that we designed with your everyday needs in mind. This crossbody pouch is the ideal size to fit your daily needs such as your phone, wallet, keys and other small items you like to carry. If you’re the creative type or are going on a trip, it is also a great size for a compact camera without having to hull around a chunky camera bag.
We added a slip pocket on the frond so you can have quick access to items you might need to keep handy. For example, if you’re at the airport about to take that flight, you can slip your passport and ticket in the front pocket, allowing you smoothy and quickly grab it when needed. Or, day-to-day, this might be where you keep your keys, as the pocket is tight enough that things don’t easily fall out but accessible so that you won’t need to dig around inside standing at your front door.
This mini messenger pouch comes with a removable and adjustable webbed cotton strap which allows you to wear it crossbody or over the shoulder. After all, comfort and adaptability are key when facing a long busy day. Note the word ‘removable’ – we find that flexibility super important so that you can play around with different straps when you’re feeling fun and want to style your bag in a new way.
Like all Junyuan items, the crossbody pouch is entirely handmade out of full grain, vegetable tanned leather. When designing this piece we opted for lamb leather, resulting in a bag that is light and soft to the touch. In order to give it the structure we desired, we lined the inside with off-white canvas, making it extremely resistant and making sure it protects your items.
Durability is guaranteed with an item like this, as vegetable tanned, full grain leather, is the most resistant and ages beautifully, developing gorgeous patinas with time and use. Additionally, we exclusively work with YKK zippers, as seen for example on our Overnight Leather Tote with Zipper. This is the highest quality zip available on the market. And trust us, it makes a big difference. You wouldn’t want a lifetime leather bag that is going to give in because of the hardware, right?
Another thing that makes this bag is extra special and truly rare is the fact that it is entirely hand-stitched, using an extremely traditional technique called saddle-stitching. This means our strong waxed thread is sewn from both sides of the hide, resulting in a stitch of superior durability. We chose stitch this item from the inside, meaning you don’t see any seams from the outside. It’s just classic, minimal, and perfect!
No different to most of our items, such as our leather duffle bag, convertible messenger bag, weekender holdall, and more, the leather pouch is gender neutral. It is easily styled with any casual daytime outfit and looks great on a more street style evening look as well. It comes in three classic colors which are so difficult to choose from: cognac, chestnut, and black. We suggest one of each!
Finally, if you’re looking to make your pouch truly your own, remember that you can add embossing at checkout. This means we can monogram your bag with your initials! What could be more you than that?
